The famous Girl Scout murders has been one of the most tragic events in our local area. In 1977, three beautiful little girls were murdered in Locust Grove, OK at the Girl Scout camp, Camp Scott. Many believed that L. G. Hart was responsible for their deaths but for every one person that believes that, there is one that doesn't.
Along with rumors that Hart was the target of a local law enforcement because he was an escaped convict and had actually escaped from the local County jail in the past, there were many local citizens that came forward with stories of sexual abuse by at least one other local that lived near the gates of the camp.
Hart was arrested and tried for the crime but was found "not guilty" and so the case remains unsolved. Hart was returned to jail and within weeks died a sudden death.
There are so many chilling facts to this case and even more theories that have yet to be explored.

Read Gambling with the Government : A short fictional story about life in the United States; or is it fictional?

Fort Smith The Dark Side PDF Print E-mail

My latest book, Fort Smith:The Dark Side, is a collection of stories from the Fort Smith area, some that are so shocking you may have trouble believing them but as wild as they are, they are true.

The Bobby Joe Burns story, the Rush murder, the Mayor and his mistress and the murderous wife and many more. These are stories you probably won't hear anywhere else.

The book is currently available at the Fort Smith Museum of History.

The River: A true story of a man in the Mulberry area that is thought to have uncovered truck loads of gold, It is thought the treasure still sits in its hiding place today waiting to be re-discovered.

The story of the lost

Spanish Treasure and the murder of Andy Doss. Andy was

murdered by family members and it is thought

than Andy had found a huge cahce of gold left

behind by the spanish explorers along the

Mulberry River area.
